2010-11 Call for Papers

The 2010-11 Annual Meeting of the Georgia Academy of Science will be held on Friday and Saturday, March 25-26, 2011 at Gainesville State College in Gainesville, GA.  The meeting will begin in the afternoon on Friday and continue through the luncheon on Saturday. 

Important Dates/Deadlines:

Abstract Submission Form to Section Chair:   December 3, 2010

Notification to Authors Selected for Presentation (via email): February 15, 2011

Annual Meeting: March 25-26, 2011

The abstract submission form (a Microsoft Word document) that includes abstract submission guidelines and a form about the contact information of presenters can be downloaded from the Georgia Academy Website:

The maximum size of the abstract is limited by the text-box provided in the Microsoft Word document. After completing the Word document, it should be sent via an email attachment to the appropriate section chair by December 3, 2010. Review of abstracts by referees and section chairs will begin in December 2010 and completed in early January 2011. Accepted abstracts will be announced in the Georgia Academy Website in March and published in the Georgia Journal of Science.  Copies of the Journal will be available during the meeting. Competitive monetary awards exist for student presentations.  Oral and poster presentations can be developed into written manuscripts for publication consideration in the Georgia Journal of Science.

Travel directions to Gainesville State University, local accommodations, and other general information about the conference will be posted on the Academy website as soon as this information becomes available.
